Record and Replay Your Golf Swing on Android
Our Android app is called Swing Replay on Google Play. Start with one compatible Android device, or pair two Android devices so the camera can stay fixed while the replay screen sits beside you.

What you need
Swing Replay requires Android 10 or newer and an active subscription for practice. For two-device practice, both Android devices need Google Play services, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled. Keep both devices nearby and outside the club and ball path.
Download the app using the Google Play button on this page. Its listing name is Swing Replay, published by Darwin Labs Inc. SwingLoop is the name of our separate iPhone and iPad app.
Android and iOS cannot pair with each other. Choose two Android devices for this setup. An App Store subscription does not unlock the Android app; Google Play manages Android purchases and restores. See pricing and compatibility before buying a second device.
Prepare before going offline
- Install or update Swing Replay on every device you will use.
- Complete onboarding and purchase or restore through Google Play while you have internet.
- Confirm each device can open practice. A store checkout or subscription-verification problem should be resolved before traveling to an offline range.
- Grant Camera access when requested. On Android versions that request Nearby devices or related discovery permissions, allow them for pairing. Follow the permission prompts shown on your device.
- Keep Wi-Fi and Bluetooth switched on. You do not need to join a shared Wi-Fi network for the nearby practice connection.
Download, purchase, restore and occasional subscription verification still require internet. Offline practice does not mean the app can complete a purchase or verify access indefinitely without connecting.
Record with one Android device
Choose Single device on Home. Put the device on a stable stand with the front camera facing you. Leave enough room in the frame for your head, feet and club throughout the swing.
Hold your golf address until the app is ready, make the swing, then hold the finish. The device records and shows the replay on the same screen. Wait for the camera to return before starting the next shot.
Adjust playback speed and replay delay to suit the time you need to look up. Save useful clips before leaving a temporary practice session.
Pair two Android devices
- Choose Replay on the device you want to watch beside the mat.
- Choose Camera on the filming device.
- Find the replay device through nearby discovery or scan its QR code.
- Confirm that the native authentication digits match on both devices.
- Keep the apps open while connecting, then frame a test swing on the Camera device.
- Complete the swing and confirm its clip arrives on Replay before starting your practice block.
The filming device stays at the chosen angle. The second device can sit where you can see it safely between shots. Avoid moving the camera each time you review a clip.
If the devices cannot connect
| What you see | What to check |
|---|---|
| No nearby replay device | Both devices are Android, have Google Play services, have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on, and have allowed the requested discovery permissions. |
| Authentication does not complete | Confirm the same digits on both devices. Leave the incomplete session and retry nearby if they differ. |
| A subscription screen | Go online and verify or restore access through the purchasing Google Play account. |
| Connection drops during practice | Keep both apps in the foreground, bring the devices closer and retry within the same session. |
| The swing is missed or cropped | Check lighting, full-body visibility, stand stability and the club’s room at the top and finish. |
For a useful report to support, include both device models, Android versions, the app version, the role of each device and the exact message shown. A screenshot of the message helps; never send payment details or your password.
Review a useful clip
Save a baseline and a later attempt from the same camera position. Label them with the club or practice goal, then compare matching video sections side by side. Drawing tools let you mark paused video for your own review or a conversation with your coach.
These are video review tools. Automatic detection decides when to record; it does not score your technique or measure ball speed, spin or carry distance. Read replay versus AI analysis if you are choosing between different kinds of golf apps.
The camera-placement guide explains repeatable face-on and down-the-line views. Its screenshots show iOS, but the framing principles also apply to an Android camera.
